It’s how your anger affects you, and how your angry behaviour affects others, which really matters. Some people with anger management issues are quick to anger and often display aggressive behaviour towards family, friends or strangers. Sometimes this anger explodes into physical violence, although it is more commonly expressed with high levels of frustration, verbal abuse and yelling. This type of aggressive behaviour will likely make living or working with you extremely exhausting and difficult, and will often lead to a breakdown in your relationships. Other people with anger management issues tend to suppress their anger, such that it sits there inside, bubbling away. These people are unlikely to be aggressive towards others, although there is the potential for such closely held anger to explode into the external world. More usually however, people with suppressed anger will feel highly stressed, constantly agitated and often dissatisfied within themselves. Either way, intense feelings of anger and/or inappropriate expressions of your angry emotions is likely to leave you feeling unfulfilled, unhappy and often alone.
